The Champions league

It was disapointing yesterday to see that Barcelona was loosing the playoff to Chelsea of England. It was an intense game Barcelona played very hard, I am proud of them. They started the game loosing 3-0 in less than 25 minutes then they came back with two goals from ronaldinho. His second goal was awsome, he was dancing with the ball right outside the box, than all of the sudden he just hit it with his toe and it went right in one of the corners. I think they needed Marquez on the back just to give them a little bit of balance between the lines and more security recuperating balls. Any ways I just hope now that they wont be discouraged and that they win the Spanish Liga.
Manchester Unite also lost to AC milan 0-1 and today Real plays Juve will see who goes to the next round.

'Copa Libertadores'

Copa Libertadores is a tournament played between clubs from all over South America and Mexico.

Racism in European Stadiums

In the past months Europe has been victim of racism from fans towards black, and South American soccer players. This racism started in France but later it became something very common in Spanish stadiums. Although authorities have been condeming it since it started it dosnt seem that they are doing anything to stop it and more cases occur every week in Spanish stadiums. Fans call black and South American soccer players monkeys and immitate the screams of a monkey, making fun of their color of skin. We hope authorities really start doing something about this before the situations worsens.

Soccer Most Popular Sport in the World

Soccer has been since it was invented the most popular sport in the world, and although there might be some countries that have resisted its passion it is slowly taking over. The US is one of those countries which resisted ant still to some degree the development of soccer. We could see this in schools where officials dont give soccer the importance it should, some times it even seems that they hate it. Traditionally other sports have been more important in the US but I think schools should realize that soccer would eventually be the most popular sport everywhere.

Barcelona VS Espanyol

The 'Catalan Derby' between Barcelona and Espanyol de Barcelona endeup in a tie. Although Barcelona FC had control the whole game the good performance by the goalie from Cameroon Kamendi and the defensive set up by Espanyol kept Barcelona from scoring. The best things from Barcelona were the great effort by Maxi Lopez, consistency of Eto up front and the good judgement of Marquez at midfield.
Barcelona started the week tieing with Numancia at their field, which was littarly frozen. Next week they will face Osasuna wich promeses to be a great game, since Osasuna wants to get their first victory of the year. Later on the week they will face Chelsea again but now in London to see who goes to the next round. Barcelona has a 2-1 advantage but will see if they can keep it.
